No — scanned PDFs are images wrapped in a PDF. You need OCR first. We plan an `ocr-pdf` endpoint for this.
What encoding is the output?+
UTF-8. Handles non-Latin scripts (Arabic, CJK, Cyrillic) cleanly.
Best free PDF-to-text converter?+
For text-based PDFs, any free tool works — we differ mainly in speed (sub-second) and no-signup. For scanned PDFs, you need OCR — coming soon.
